On August 27, 2024, the NRC issued a notice of violation (Notice) to the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (licensee) for a Severity Level III (SL) violation. The violation involved the licensee’s failure to have an individual named on the license as the radiation safety officer as required by NRC License Condition No. 12 of NRC License No. 45-23090-01. The Notice also includes three SL IV violations associated with the licensee’s radiation safety program.
